Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, has struggled mightily in his rookie season. He has completed only 58% of his passes for 1,200 yards, with nine touchdowns and six interceptions.
"We're working through some things with Caleb," Brown said after the Bears' loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. "He's a talented player, but he's still learning. We need to find a way to get him more comfortable and confident."
Brown has hinted that he may make some changes to the Bears' offensive scheme to help Williams succeed.
"We might need to simplify things a little bit for him," Brown said. "We want to put him in positions where he can be successful. We're going to look at everything and see what we can do to help him."
Williams himself remains confident that he can turn things around.
"I'm not going to let this get me down," Williams said. "I'm going to keep working hard and learning. I know I can be a good quarterback in this league."
Whether Williams can turn things around remains to be seen. The Bears have a bye week this week, which gives them some time to work on things.
"We're going to use this bye week to regroup and get Caleb ready for the second half of the season," Brown said. "We believe in him, and we're going to do everything we can to help him reach his potential."
