Former "Pretty Little Liars" star Ian Harding has opened up about his life after the hit TV series, his battle with lupus, and his experience living in Germany.
Harding's time on "Pretty Little Liars" catapulted him to stardom. However, after the show ended in 2017, the actor felt a mix of excitement and trepidation about his future.
"It was a strange feeling, going from being so connected to a character and a show for so long, to suddenly being in limbo," Harding told reporters.
Despite the uncertainty, Harding has embraced new challenges, including writing and directing. He has also been involved in charitable work, most notably raising awareness for lupus.
In 2018, Harding was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease that can affect various organs and tissues.
"It took a while for me to come to terms with the diagnosis," Harding said. "There are good days and bad days, but I'm grateful for the support of my family and friends."
Harding uses his platform to raise awareness about the disease, hoping to encourage others to seek help if they have unexplained symptoms.
In 2021, Harding and his wife, actress Sophie Hart, moved to Germany.
"Sophie had a job opportunity in Germany, and we decided to take the plunge," Harding explained. "It's been an incredible experience so far."
Harding said he enjoys the slower pace of life in Germany and has been exploring the country's culture and history.
Harding remains passionate about acting and is open to new projects. He is also keen to continue raising awareness for lupus and supporting those affected by the disease.
"I'm excited for whatever the future holds," Harding concluded. "I've learned to embrace the unexpected and live life to the fullest."
