Arizona State Men's Basketball Upsets Utah In Home Pac
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — DJ Horne scored 22 points and Desmond Cambridge Jr. added 21 as Arizona State upset No. 16 Utah 88-86 in a Pac-12 Conference game Thursday night.
Comeback Win
The Sun Devil led by 10 points midway through the second half, but Utah rallied to take a 78-77 lead with 2:32 remaining. Horne then hit a 3-pointer to put ASU back on top, and Cambridge followed with a layup. After Utah’s Marco Anthony made a free throw, Cambridge hit another layup to make it 84-79 with 1:08 left.
Utah's Late Push
Utah had a chance to tie it in the final seconds, but Branden Carlson's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim and was rebounded by Warren Washington.
Sun Devils' Solid Performance
Washington scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Luther Muhammad added 14 points for the Sun Devils (13-5, 5-2 Pac-12). Anthony led Utah (14-4, 5-2) with 22 points, while Carlson added 16 and Keba Keita had 15.

"I'm so proud of our guys," said ASU coach Bobby Hurley. "They showed a lot of grit and determination tonight. We knew it would be a tough game, but we never gave up."
"We had our chances," said Utah coach Craig Smith. "But we didn't make enough plays down the stretch."
Looking Ahead
Arizona State will host Oregon on Saturday, while Utah will travel to California.
